Online, two things: first name and email. That’s the whole heist for now — and not one worth selling. Who would I even sell it to, anyway? At the evening there’s a bit more, all of it below.

What I collect

Online: your first name and email address. No ads, no trackers following you around the internet. The host counts visits (how many, which country, phone or laptop) and that’s all I see. No names, no profiles.

Before the evening: your answer to my one question, a real view of yours. It goes on one card with your first name, read in the room during the round where views are real. That round is never filmed, and the card never goes online.

At the evening: photos and short clips of the room, where faces may appear (more under “On filming”). And an observer taking notes on what happens and how the room behaves. Never who said what, never names.

Why

So I can tell you about In|Betweens sessions — when one’s happening, where, how to join — and ask you a question or two. That’s the only reason.

On filming

Video might run in rounds one and two, while someone reads out or argues a card drawn from the hat. Beyond that, there’ll be random photos and short clips of the room, never with your name or your opinions attached. Your face may be in any of them. Everything you actually believe and say anywhere else in the room stays off the record. Before any photo or video of you is posted, I’ll ask you by name if it’s okay. No answer, no post. Cards carry no names; what’s written on them may be shared, never tied to anyone.

Where it lives

Stored securely in a database, and I get a notification email when you sign up. A small number of processors (database, email, hosting) hold it so the thing works. None of them get to use it.

How long

Until you ask me to delete it, or until In|Betweens stops running — whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask what I’ve got, ask me to fix it, or ask me to delete it entirely. No hoops. If you believe your data is being mishandled, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
